Pernilla Svenre organic knits

PS gots shortWe have been carrying Swedish designer Pernilla Svenre’s knits since 2005.
Pernilla works with a team of between 5-6 women in different parts of Sweden who knit, cut, and sew her designs. Her shop in Stockholm.
Pernilla’s designs are organic. She works with a model that has roots in medieval dresses. Gussets over the hips give the cardigans a very becoming and feminine line. The yarn is softly spun from mostly organic merino and alpaca yarns.
It is Pernilla’s interest in Organic yarns that formed the basis of  the newest designs made from GOTS wool. Knitted in rib, and then lightly fulled, the result is a soft lacy fabric that is used to form a long and a short cardigan.
Pernilla also works with organic alpaca yarn from Bolivia that is as soft as butter. Knitted in a lacy rose pattern, it is ultra feminine!

One-of-a-kind linen dresses

I was at the NW Trendshow in Bellevue in March where I saw a few samples of unique dresses from Poland and coats from Sweden, so I bought a small selection of each.  After waiting more than 3 months, and almost forgetting that I had placed an order, the linen pieces arrived.  Shown is an appliqued dress made from three different linens.  This dress is made by Mara Gibbucci–each piece is unique.  You can visit her website at

Perfect with this dress is the treasure chest necklace in shades of brown made by Connie Wright from Bowen Island.  Each necklace that Connie makes is totally unique, made up of beads and trinkets found from her travels to her grandma’s button box.
